Welcome to the Growth Project Logistics 2 web site where you will find all relevant information regarding the project.
The Growth Project Logistics 2 has been funded through One North East Single Programme and the European Regional Development Fund (2007-2013) ERDF - to support companies across the North East to reduce costs and waste within the supply chain by introducing best practice and technology into both thinking and processes applications.
The project will support companies through:
Best Practice and Technology awareness events
Access to Demonstrator companies - implementing technology and sharing knowledge
Projects to support companies with logistics and technology applications
The project is able to offer projects of a minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 10 days worth of consultancy to companies committed to improving performance and costs in logistics operations. In total the ambition is to support around 80 companies with projects and 300 companies with awareness events - of which a high number of already places have been fully allocated.
The best practice areas will focus on improvements to business processes, planning, supplier management, inventory, material handling and transport, with technology projects likely to cross many of these same areas on implementation.
